I have been using Wordpress for my clients since I first got to know about it really and its just great. It is very flexible and allows me use it in a unique or innovative way, with very cost-effective results.

Scott, if i move on to dynamic website from a static , how much it would affect my SEO performance. Will it improve my performance? what I actually mean is, if changing my static website to dynamic alone will boost my SEO rankings?

I agree, for anybody that wants to update their site, a dynamic one should be seriously considered. It becomes an even bigger issue with SEO in mind because the search engines like to see new content. Thanks for adding your expert opinion to the conversation.

Scott .. some of my clients ask for static content websites for their biz, actually I try to make them change their minds about it, because I think in a different way, I think giving my clients a dynamic content management website is a better idea, so updating the website will be much easier for me, because almost all my clients start to send me updates they want make to their websites every 6 months, and sometimes less than that, I think the dynamic content management will won all the time.

I just want to mention that some of my clients don't know that I build their website using a CMS, because they don't need it or they find it hard to deal with... so I am doing this for my work not for them :)

Thank you for the nice post Scott, you have opened a good discussion here!

Totally agree. Static pages are best for people that currently have no web presence at all, and want to at least have somewhere online for their customers and potential customers to find them. In the long run, a more flexible option that allows the user to customize their website or blog is much better, especially for brand imaging purposes. Thanks for your input!

With the rise in quality of the themes from Wordpress especially (the self-hosted .org version) blogs can offer excellent CMS options for a company as well, with very cost-effective results.

As you say, Scott, even just having a static option so you're visible to potential customers is a start (though full-blown CMS has to be the natural choice).
